Four steps, five minutes. How often you should roll depends on the needle length — 0.25 mm can be used daily, 1.0 mm once a month. See the size guide below.
Wash your face carefully and let the skin become completely dry. Spray the roller with disinfectant and let it air dry. Clean skin and a clean roller is not a detail — it is the difference between a treatment and an infection.
Divide the face into zones. Roll each zone 4–6 times up and down, then as many times sideways. Lift the roller between each stroke instead of dragging back and forth.
Light pressure is enough. The roller does the job with its own weight — if you press harder you tear the skin instead of stimulating it.
Now the skin is most receptive. Apply the serum within a minute, while the microchannels are still open. Skip acids and retinol the same evening — the skin absorbs everything right now, even what is otherwise mild.
Rinse the roller in warm water, spray with disinfectant and let it air dry standing up. Let the skin rest until the next day and use sun protection in the morning.
Replace the roller every three months. Dull needles tear instead of puncturing, and it shows in the result.
What you can expect
Microneedling adds nothing to the skin. The needles make microscopic channels, the skin perceives them as something to repair, and it is the healing that gives the result. That process has its own pace — this is what it looks like.
The skin becomes slightly pink and can feel warm for half an hour — it is the circulation responding. The serum you apply immediately afterwards is absorbed up to 200 % better through the microchannels.
The redness is gone and the skin feels smoother to the touch. It is the superficial renewal, not the deep one — it is seen first, and it disappears if you stop.
Pores and texture begin to respond. If you have marks from blemishes, it is now they begin to fade, as new skin works its way up.
Here firmness and deeper scars change. The roller adds nothing to the skin — it only starts the skin's own healing process, and it is your skin that builds the new. Therefore, microneedling is measured in months, not in weeks.

What does it do for my skin?
Retinol is a vitamin A derivative that speaks directly to the skin cells: speed up renewal, build more collagen. It is the most well-studied active ingredient in skincare, and the only one that affects wrinkles, uneven tone, and blemishes alike.
Do I need to build up a tolerance to the product?
Yes, and that is the part I usually go through most carefully in the treatment room. The skin needs time to adjust, and if it does so at its own pace you avoid almost the entire dry, flaky period.
Two evenings a week to start with, on completely dry skin — damp skin absorbs more and faster than you want right now. If the skin feels calm after a couple of weeks, you add an evening. If it gets tight or red, you take a step back and go gently for a few days. It is not a failure, it is how you read your skin.
The temptation is to push on to make it go faster. But a damaged barrier takes weeks to repair, and in the meantime you cannot use the retinol at all — then you have lost more time than you gained.
When will I see results?
Blemishes and texture respond first, often within a month. Fine lines and firmness rely on newly formed collagen and take three to six months. It is an ingredient you measure in seasons, not weeks.
Does it suit my skin?
Most, but in the evening — retinol is broken down by light. Always use sun protection the day after. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding: abstain completely and ask a midwife. If you have rosacea or very sensitive skin, start with the lowest strength.

Första gången jag provar. Det tog några gånger innan jag vande mig med sticken. Rodnaden la sig efter ca 8-12 timmar. Huden känns väldigt len och mina små plitor har försvunnit helt även de mindre pigmentfläckar jag hade på kinderna är mindre märkbara.
