Retinal 0.1% Night Cream is a rich, fragrance-free night cream with retinal (retinaldehyde) – the next generation of retinol. The formula is built to deliver visible results on wrinkles, fine lines and uneven texture with minimal irritation, so you can use it night after night.

Retinal vs retinol – what's the difference?

Both retinol and retinal are forms of vitamin A, but the skin can only use them once converted into retinoic acid. Retinol needs two conversion steps – first to retinal, then to retinoic acid. Retinal is already one step closer and therefore converts significantly faster, giving results comparable to prescription retinoic acid with a much lower risk of redness and peeling. In this cream the retinal is also stabilised and released gradually overnight.

A night cream that works while you sleep

Skin repairs itself most at night, and that is when vitamin A does the most good. The cream is therefore formulated as a nourishing night cream: emollient oils and glycerin keep the skin hydrated while the retinal stimulates cell renewal. Wake up to skin that feels smoother, firmer and more rested.

How to Use

Apply a pea-sized amount (2–3 pumps) to cleansed skin in the evening.

Gently massage into face, neck and décolleté until absorbed.

Avoid the eye area.

Can also be worn during the day – always use sunscreen.

Not recommended for pregnant women.

Skin Expert Tips

Start by using the cream 2–3 evenings a week to allow your skin to adjust to retinal, then gradually increase to every evening. Always patch test before first use. Retinal makes the skin more sensitive to the sun, so be sure to use a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher). Contains vitamin A-related compounds – caution is advised if you take vitamin A from other sources. For external use only, keep out of reach of children.

Vad gör den för min hud?

Retinal (retinaldehyd) är en form av vitamin A som ligger ett steg närmare retinsyra – den aktiva formen huden faktiskt använder. Retinol måste omvandlas två gånger, retinal bara en, och omvandlingen går betydligt snabbare. Resultatet är samma mekanism som retinol – snabbare cellförnyelse, jämnare struktur och mer kollagen – men med kraft närmare receptbelagd retinsyra.

Irriterar den huden?

Mindre än man tror. Retinal ger effekt nära retinsyra men med betydligt lägre risk för rodnad och fjällning, och i vår kräm är den dessutom stabiliserad och frisätts gradvis under natten. Lätt torrhet de första gångerna är hudens anpassning, inte en allergisk reaktion. Börja med 2–3 kvällar i veckan och trappa upp till varje kväll när huden är lugn.

När ser jag resultat?

Eftersom retinal omvandlas snabbare kommer struktur och lyster ofta tidigare än med retinol – räkna med de första veckorna. Fina linjer och fasthet bygger på kollagen och svarar långsammare. Bedöm resultatet efter tolv veckors regelbunden användning.

Do I need to phase Retinal 0.1% Night Cream into my routine?

Yes. Start with 2–3 evenings a week for the first two weeks to let your skin adjust. Slight dryness or warmth the first few times is normal and usually subsides. Then gradually increase to every evening.

Can I use the cream every evening?

Yes – that's the goal. Retinal is formulated for minimal irritation, but the skin still needs an adjustment period. Once your skin tolerates 2–3 evenings a week without issues, you can move up to every evening.

Can I use the cream if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Retinal is a vitamin A derivative and we do not recommend the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor if you are unsure.

What is the difference between retinol and retinal?

Both are forms of vitamin A that the skin converts into retinoic acid to take effect. Retinol needs two conversion steps, retinal only one – which is why retinal works faster and delivers results closer to prescription retinoic acid, but with a lower risk of irritation.

Why is the cream yellow?

The pale yellow colour comes from the retinal itself – retinaldehyde is naturally yellow. The colour shows the active ingredient is intact, and it does not stain the skin or bed linen.

Do I need a moisturiser afterwards, and can I use it around the eyes?

The cream is a nourishing night cream and is usually enough as the last step. If your skin is very dry, you can layer a simple moisturiser on top. Avoid the eye area itself – apply up to the cheekbone and brow bone.
